I've been thinking a lot about how loud wellness has gotten.
Not loud in the obvious way, though that's part of it, but loud in the pressure way. The "optimize everything" way. The "if you're not glowing, you're failing" way.
And if you're anything like me, there are days you don't need another trend. You need something simpler:
A little more presence. A little more softness. A little more warmth. With yourself, and with the people you love. And ideally… without the crash.
That's why we created The gK Journal.
Not as a content machine. Not as a funnel. But as a home for the deeper layer of what we're building: where we can talk like humans, explain the science like adults, and offer rituals that actually fit inside a normal day.
Welcome. Really.

Why we're writing
Social is great for quick moments. A line that hits. A photo that captures a mood.
But what we care about, what you've told us you care about, isn't quick.
It's the slow shift. The quiet return to yourself. The feeling of being more available in your own life.
So this journal is where we'll keep the parts that deserve more room:
- what's happening in your body (in plain English)
- how to work with your nervous system instead of fighting it
- how to feel more connected without turning your life into a self-improvement project
- the kind of relationship wisdom that's grounded, not cringe
- and yes, sometimes, where gK fits in… when it actually fits
You won't find miracle language here. You won't find pressure. And you definitely won't find us pretending we've figured out life.
You'll find what we're learning, honestly, and what seems to help.

The three states we keep coming back to
When we launched last year, something surprised us.
People weren't just describing "effects." They were describing states.
They weren't saying: this is what it did. They were saying: this is how it felt to be me again.
Over time, those experiences started to cluster into three categories—three rhythms of real life.
That's how Unwind, Ignite, and Connect became the pillars of gK.
Not as branding. As a map.

Unwind 🌿
Unwind is the moment your nervous system stops gripping.
It's when the mental noise turns down a notch. When your jaw unclenches. When your body remembers it's safe to exhale.
Unwind is for the days that feel a little too sharp:
- overstimulation
- racing thoughts
- end-of-day depletion
- "I want clarity, not intensity."
This year, Unwind content is going to be about gentle nervous system skills—rituals you can repeat until they become second nature.
The science, simply: Your nervous system has two modes—sympathetic (go) and parasympathetic (rest). Most of us live in sympathetic overdrive. Unwind is about giving your parasympathetic system a chance to catch up. It's not about eliminating stress. It's about creating enough space that your body can actually recover.
Try this: Tonight, before bed, try this: Five minutes of slow breathing (4 counts in, 6 counts out). No meditation app. No guided anything. Just you, your breath, and the quiet. That's it.
What we've seen: People who practice this consistently report feeling "more like themselves" within a week. Not transformed. Just… more present.

Ignite 🔥
Ignite is your return to aliveness.
Not manic energy. Not a stimulant spike. More like… glow. The version of you that feels subtly more playful. More creative. More turned toward life.
Ignite is for:
- creative momentum
- confidence
- date-night energy (tasteful, always)
- "I miss my spark."
Ignite, in 2026, will be written with the same vibe we're aiming for everywhere: mature, elegant, and just a little magnetic.
The science, simply: When your body feels safe and your mind feels clear, pleasure becomes more accessible. It's not about forcing a mood. It's about removing the blocks—the stress, the overthinking, the "shoulds"—so your natural aliveness can surface.
Try this: Next time you want to feel more turned toward life (creative work, date night, solo reflection), give yourself 20 minutes of quiet first. No phone. No agenda. Just presence. Then see how you feel.
What we've seen: The people who use Ignite consistently describe it as "gentle elevation." Energy without the crash, pleasure without the guilt.
Connect 💝
Connect is closeness without effort.
It's the relief of a better conversation. The warmth of feeling emotionally available again. The kind of connection that doesn't require performance.
Connect is for:
- deeper relationships
- more open conversations
- fewer guarded moments
- "I want it to feel easier to be with people."
This year, Connect content will focus on relational rituals. The small things that consistently make love and friendship feel safer, warmer, and more real.
The science, simply: Connection happens in your nervous system first. When you feel safe in your body, you can be more present with others. When you're present, conversations deepen. Touch feels warmer. The awkwardness fades. It's not magic. It's biology.
Try this: Before your next meaningful conversation (partner, friend, family), take three deep breaths. Set an intention: "I want to be here, fully." That's it. No script. Just presence.
What we've seen: People describe Connect moments as "feeling more like myself in relationships." Less guarded, more available, warmer without trying.

What we learned from launching last year
Launching gK taught us a lot. Not in a flashy way. In a quiet, honest way, like the kind of learning you only get when real people actually use something and tell you the truth.
Here are three things we're carrying forward:
1) People don't want to be fixed. They want to come home to themselves.
The best feedback we got wasn't dramatic. It was grounding.
It sounded like: "I felt more like myself."
That's the lane we're staying in.
Subtle. Sustainable. Repeatable.
2) The only rituals that matter are the ones you can do on a normal day.
We're not building for perfect mornings and curated routines.
We're building for:
- long workdays
- social plans you're anxious about
- relationships that feel tender or tense
- nights when your mind won't shut up
- weeks when you just want to feel steady
If it doesn't help you on an ordinary day, it doesn't belong here.
3) People want science; just not in a way that makes them feel stupid.
You've told us you want credibility. You want sources. You want truth.
But you also want the science translated into something usable.
So here's our promise:
- we'll cite what we can
- we'll speak plainly
- we'll be honest about what's known, and what's still emerging
- and we'll never use science as a way to inflate claims
The thing is: The research on kanna (sceletium tortuosum) is still emerging. What we know: It's been used for thousands of years. Modern studies suggest it works as a serotonin reuptake inhibitor. Basically, it helps your brain hold onto more of the "feel good" neurotransmitters. But we're not here to promise miracles. We're here to offer something subtle that seems to help people feel more like themselves.

What to expect from this journal
Most entries will follow a simple rhythm:
- one clear idea (usually science + real life)
- one small ritual you can try
- one proof moment (a story, a pattern, something real)
- one next step
And once a month, we'll share something a little different.

The Tarot Editions (Monthly)
Just to say it clearly:
We're not using tarot to tell you the future.
We're using it as a playful mirror. A way to reflect on modern life with a little more meaning and a little less seriousness.
Each Tarot Edition will include:
- what the card traditionally symbolizes
- what it looks like in real life today
- how it relates to Unwind / Ignite / Connect
- a simple prompt or ritual
- and a gentle invitation to participate
Think: field guide energy. A little mystical, but mostly practical. A reminder to pay attention.

If you're new here
Start with the state you need most right now.
- Unwind if life feels loud and your body can't land
- Ignite if you feel flat and want your spark back
- Connect if you miss closeness that feels easy
And if you want these drops delivered quietly—without having to chase the algorithm—join the newsletter.
That's where we'll always start.
If you're curious about gK: We make two things—the Ritual Bottle (20 capsules, for daily Unwind) and the Go Pouch (5 capsules, for Ignite or Connect moments). Both are designed around the same principle: subtle support, no crash, repeatable rituals. Learn more →
Thanks for being here. For real.
